What is Hats and Horses?
Hats and Horses is our most anticipated fundraising event. Themed around the Kentucky Derby, this “party with a purpose” raises funds for our agency or sometimes, a specific area or program. This event takes place every year on the first Saturday in May, Derby day! Dress in your derby best and enjoy a live auction, silent auction, our famous “Wheelbarrow of Booze” raffle, and many other fun derby-themed activities. Watch the race live and root for your favorite! You won’t want to miss it!

Pioneer Resources is dedicated to our mission of helping people with disabilities and seniors to attain independence and dignity by creating opportunities for participation in the community. Not only will you have an absolute blast on May 3, you’ll also be supporting essential services in our community! We provide:

Donated Items
We are always seeking donations of items or experiences for our auctions. High value items and experiences may be auctioned off in our live auction. Other donated items of $50-$200 value (approximately) may be auctioned in our silent auction, or combined to make a basket or grouping of items for either auction. We include the donor’s name/business in marketing materials, programs, slides, signage, and verbal announcements at the event; a wonderful way to get your name or business out there to many attendees. Monetary gifts are the simplest ways to support the ongoing work of Pioneer Resources.
