We’re excited to share that our 7th annual Hats and Horses event will be held at the elegant Bella Maria’s Event Center!  We had such great feedback from this year (2023) that we had to make sure to reserve the space for 2024!

Proceeds support Pioneer Resources’ various programs to serve our mission of helping people with disabilities and seniors to attain independence and dignity by creating opportunities for participation in the community.

What is Hats and Horses?

Hats and Horses is our most anticipated fundraising event. Themed around the Kentucky Derby, this “party with a purpose” raises funds for our agency or a specific program, depending on the year. This event takes place during the Kentucky Derby – typically the first Saturday in May. Dress in your derby best and enjoy a live auction, silent auction, our famous “Wheelbarrow of Booze” raffle, and many other fun derby-themed activities. The race is shown live and the music, food and atmosphere is fantastic. You won’t want to miss it!

We’d love to have you attend our event! This evening is a great opportunity to entertain business clients as well (be sure to let them know it’s a fundraising event). Tables are available for businesses or families wishing to enjoy the event as a group.

Donated Items

We are always seeking donations of items or experiences for our auctions. High value items, baskets, or experiences may be auctioned off in our live auction. Other donated items of $50-$200 value (approximately) may be auctioned in our “bucket” or silent auction, or combined to make a basket or grouping of items for the silent or the live auction, depending on the item. We include the donor’s name/business in marketing materials, programs, slides, signage, and verbal announcements at the event; a wonderful way to get your name or business out there to many attendees. Corporate sponsors have a unique opportunity to not only give back to the community through a charitable donation to Pioneer Resources, but to also benefit from our promotion efforts not only during Hats and horses, but all year long.  Social media posts, marketing materials, and acknowledgment on our website are just a few of the ways in which we can share your business’ name.
