Hats and Horses
What is Hats and Horses?
Hats and Horses is our most anticipated fundraising event. Themed around the Kentucky Derby, this “party with a purpose” raises funds for our agency or sometimes, a specific area or program. This event takes place every year on the first Saturday in May, Derby day! Dress in your derby best and enjoy a live auction, silent auction, our famous “Wheelbarrow of Booze” raffle, and many other fun derby-themed activities. Watch the race live and root for your favorite! You won’t want to miss it!
Why Attend Hats and Horses?
Pioneer Resources is dedicated to our mission of helping people with disabilities and seniors to attain independence and dignity by creating opportunities for participation in the community. Not only will you have an absolute blast, you’ll also be supporting essential services in our community! We provide:
- a place to live: affordable housing and specialized homes
- a place to learn: employment, ABA and training programs
- a place to grow and play: camping and recreation programs
- a way to get there: transportation services

We’d love to have you attend our event! This evening is a great opportunity to entertain business clients as well (be sure to let them know it’s a fundraising event). Tables are available for businesses or families wishing to enjoy the event as a group. Tickets on sale now!
Donated Items
We are always seeking donations of items or experiences for our auctions. High value items and experiences may be auctioned off in our live auction. Other donated items may be auctioned in our silent auction, or combined to make a basket or grouping of items for either auction. We include the donor’s name/business in marketing materials, programs, slides, signage, and verbal announcements at the event; a wonderful way to get your name or business out there to many attendees.
