Independent Living
It's all about establishing community.
It is the mission of this program to provide support services to people with disabilities who reside in their own homes. Our trained staff assist individuals to meet goals they choose in such areas as personal care, budgeting, transportation, and participating in the community.
Anyone hoping to establish their own home and navigate their own life in the community needs a variety of supports. Sometimes it is about formal connections with governmental programs or health care providers. At other times, it means encouraging or identifying informal, neighborly connections upon which we all depend.
Referrals for support services and funding may come from a community mental health board or the Michigan Department of Human Services.
But in the end, it's all about establishing community.
